The DMA code, to which Promotigo and all DMA members must adhere, demands the highest standards of data protection, respect of privacy, transparency and accountability. By using Guest Visit, both the guest and hospitality business owner can be assured that an organisation with a track record of responsible data gathering is in control of this task, and that all is being done to keep people in control of their data.

As the government notes, it is not appropriate for businesses to use this requirement as a data mining opportunity for marketing purposes. This is about the hospitality sector doing their bit to protect public health by gathering and storing their guest's data ethically and safely.

Businesses cannot afford to be sloppy with data, as data breaches necessarily mean a loss of trust and an inevitable loss of guests. From the options on the market, Promotigo Guest Visit can be trusted to adhere to the strictest data privacy standards while being user friendly and cost-effective.

Open the camera and point towards the QR code until it is registered and offers to take you to a unique venue web page. Alternatively enter the url www.guestvisit.co.uk/<unique identifier> (for example www.guestvisit.co.uk/1234) and this will take you to the same unique venue web page. Any problems, please contact us here.

With iPhones, the QR code reader is built into the camera, so it works straight away. With an android phone, it depends on the make of the phone. You may need to enable this in settings, or switch the camera to Lens mode.

It is worth googling how to use a QR code on your phone type for top tips. For example
Please open the internet browser on your Samsung Galaxy S9. At the top right, touch the icon with the three dots – A menu will appear. Now select “Extensions” and then activate the slider for “QR Code Reader”. 2. Scan QR Codes. Just tap on the symbol with the three dots in the top right corner.

You may have to download a 3rd party app from the google play store. Open up the play store and search for QR code reader no ads and then download an app as you would normally. Then open the app to use the QR code.
